The Giver, Movie, Review

Before I start, I want to say that The Giver Book was Phenomenal, it had so much depth within it and amazing themes, showcasing what a "perfect society" would look like. On the other hand, the movie was bland, boring and a snooze-fest. There was some instances that were not even in the book, for instance, the awkward forced relationship between Jonas and Fiona, which just felt forced and uncomfortable. There was some new real estate for the Giver, on the edge of a cliff, when his real building was in the community. The actors looked as bored of the film as the audience, especially Jonas. Asher was a terrible mess and unfaithful to the book, I hated Asher in the film but liked him in the book. The one character that they got right was the Giver. he was amazing. He was faithful to the book, amazingly played out by Jeff Bridges, and just fun and entertaining to watch. Overall, If you have read the book, you should give the movie a try. maybe you will have a different reaction. As for anyone else it is an absolute don't watch it. You will have no idea whats going on, and will be bored halfway through. Overall I give this movie a 4/10. Not so good for a movie based on an 8/10 book.
